I remember as a child picking Lilac's from my mom's Lilac bush for my grandma. The fragrance is so beautiful and I was so excited to give them to her. Even though that was more than 50 years ago, the fragrance of Lilac still triggers my memories of my childhood and the emotions of love toward my grandma. Although most florist flowers are not scented, there are some to look for that will give you that just picked, garden fragrance. Lilac is a favorite for Mother's Day gift giving as well as Garden roses. These are a variety of roses with rounder heads that are specially breed. They resemble Peony more than a standard rose. Another treasured fragrant flower is Sweet Pea. These days they are being imported from Japan and are pricey, but worth it. Their scent is wonderful! So if you have someone on your Mother's Day flower list who you know will appreciate fragrant flowers, be sure to look for Lilac, Garden Roses and Sweet Pea.
