Caring for your roses.
To extend the vase life of cut roses, first be sure to remove all foliage from the lower half of the flower. When the foliage is left on and submerged in water it will encourage bacterial growth and shorten the life of the roses. Changing the water every other day and recutting the roses on an angle with a sharp knife or clipper will ensure that they stay well hydrated.
The food provided by your florist, an asprin or a few drops of bleach will also help keep bacteria at bay. Last but not least, roses will live much longer if they are kept in a cool place, away from sunny windows and heat sources. ENJOY!
